No New Stuff

Well, I am impatiently waiting on my side of the US (New Hampshire) for my Fall/Winter Preview Brochure preorder to arrive. I did get an SU in tonight, so I decided that I could play with stamp sets that I have that have not seen the light of day -- or an ink pad!

I loved the "Very Punny" SAB set, and all of the cards that everyone on SCS made with it. I was busy with workshops and kids, I guess, and didn't get much time to work with it.

My inspiration was the lady bug, which looked fun, and my giga punch, which I just bought a while back and need to use. I added the dots with a white gel pen (as I've seen so many great gals on SCS do!). Not knowing where to go next, I decided to rummage through my scraps of scrapbook paper to see if I could find some inspiration, and I found some in this great Bo Bunny paper that I had used to do a layout of my twin daughters. The rest came together from there.

It's hard to tell in the image but the Bo Bunny paper is inked in whisper white craft ink, and the entire thing is pierced onto the pretty in pink background paper.

Stamps: Very Punny, Delight in Life (circles), Small Sayings (happy)
Paper: Pretty in Pink, Cool Caribbean, Real Red, Basic Black, Whisper White
Ink: Cool Caribbean, Whisper White, Real Red, Basic Black
Accessories: Ribbon (pink is flirty originals from winter mini, black grosgrain), chipboard letter (Pressed Petals), tag (I think I got it at Staples?), dimensionals, silver chord, giga punch, white gel pen
Techniques: piercing, watercoloring with stamp pad CPR

Father's Day Card

I needed to make a bunch of Father's Day cards, so I hunted in my scraps of scrapbook paper and found this great striped paper, which is from a pack of Creating Keepsakes paper from Jo-Ann Fabrics. I don't have a lot of masculine stamps, but I hunted through my sets and found the leaves from "Artfully Asian" and thought that they would work well.

This card is distressed, and it should be, as I ripped it apart a few times to get it right. I faux stitched the sides, and I didn't like how it came out so I redid it. Then I decided that I didn't like my horizontal panel (it was originally mellow moss) so I put on creamy caramel. Then I decided to add the ribbon and sentiment from "Riveting", and had to get behind my main image! But it finally came together and I am pleased with it.

Stamps: Artfully Asian, Riveting
Paper: Buckaroo Blue, Creamy Caramel, Cranberry Crisp, Whisper White
Ink: Chocolate Chip, Mellow Moss (watercolored onto leaf image)
Accessories: Hodgepodge hardware, ticket corner punch, 1/2" circle punch, 1 1/4" circle punch, dimensionals, chocolate ribbon

Happiness Always

Well, this is my first official posting with a card! So very excited. Decided that I needed a day off, so I did some laundry and housework early this morning so that I could stamp the rest of the day!

My husband and I are going to a wedding tomorrow, so I came up with this card. It is based on SC126 on Splitcoast Stampers. All of the products are Stampin' Up! except for the patterned paper, which is from the Wild Asparagus line from My Mind's Eye. They have great papers! The colors were inspired by the patterned paper.

Stamps: Aida Cloth, Happy Harmony

Paper: Mellow Moss, Cranberry Crisp, Whisper White

Inks: Mellow Moss, Basic Black, Bravo Burgandy (stampin' write marker)

Accessories: paper piercing, ribbon, slot punch, ticket corner punch, brads, oval punch, dimensionals
